Before taking the exam, you must carefully study the following rules/guidelines. These will help you prepare for the exam.
Exam is available at any time
The exam is available at any time. There is no need to schedule a time slot for the exam.
Monitoring
The exam session will be monitored via ProctorExam – an online proctoring system. Please make sure to read the read the FAQs in order to best prepare for the exam.
Note: the ProctorExam tab must remain open the entire time you are taking your exam until you submit it, or the exam will not be recorded. We reserve the right to ask you to retake the exam if we do not have the recording of the exam session.
Essential items for the exam
For the exam, you should prepare the following:
- Computer with a camera, microphone and only one active monitor
- Fully charged mobile phone with a charger outlet close by
- A room with no one else inside
- Your identification document such as a passport, identification card, driver’s license, student card, or any other valid ID
Prohibited actions during the exam
During the exam, you should NOT do or use the following:
- You may not have any notes or other methods that might help you during the exam
- You may not have anyone helping you complete the exam
- You may not use your phone except as a second camera angle as outlined by the proctoring service
- You may not have any other tabs opened except for ProctorExam and the Advisera Course page, only to access the exam
- You may not use any external resources
Most common reasons why students are flagged for cheating
The most common reasons for why students are flagged for cheating are:
- Using the Advisera Courses page to look at course materials
- Using external resources, such as an extra mobile device or cheat sheet
- Not completing the room scan and phone camera setup in accordance with the exam session requirements
- Opening the text of the standard during the exam
